🎯 20 Questions & Point Values
- An official JBQ match has 20 questions worth 300 total points:
- Ten 10-point questions (#1–288) — Right: +10 | Wrong: -5
- Seven 20-point questions (#289–480) — Right: +20 | Wrong: -10
- Three 30-point questions (#481–576) — Right: +30 | Wrong: -15
⚡ Buzzing, Interrupts & Clocks
- Wait for the Question: Buzzing during "Question. Question number 1 for 10 points…" before the first word of the question is a Foul (-5 pts)!
- Interrupting: Buzzing before the last word is finished stops the Quizmaster immediately — you must finish answering from what you heard!
- Timers: You have 5 seconds after the question finishes to buzz in, and 30 seconds to complete your answer.
🏆 Quiz-Out, Strike-Out & Foul-Out
- Quiz-Out (6 Correct): Answer 6 questions right in a match to earn a +10 point bonus and applause!
- Backward Quiz-Out / Strike-Out (3 Wrong): Answer 3 questions wrong and you sit out the rest of the match.
- Foul-Out (3 Fouls): Every foul deducts 5 points; 3 fouls and you sit out.
📜 Quotation vs. Essence Questions
- Standard Questions: Judged "in essence" — bracketed words
[like this]are optional,ormeans any option works, andandmeans all parts are required. - Quotation Questions: Must be quoted word-for-word with no words added, left out, or changed, plus the complete Bible reference (Book, Chapter, and Verse).
