How to play
Quick guide to Junior Bible Quiz. Read this once and you're ready.
The big idea
Two teams race to answer 20 questions about the Bible Fact-Pak. Each team has up to 4 quizzers. You buzz in when you know an answer. First buzzer to the floor gets to answer.
Question points
- 10-point questions — easier. There are 10 of them in a match.
- 20-point questions — medium. There are 7.
- 30-point questions — hardest. Often quotation questions. There are 3.
Get it right → you score the full points. Get it wrong → you lose half the points.
Three ways to leave a match early
- Quiz out — Answer 6 questions correctly. You get a +10 bonus and sit out the rest. 🏆
- Strike out — Answer 3 questions wrong. You sit out the rest.
- Foul out — Get 3 fouls. You sit out the rest. (Fouls happen when you break a rule, like buzzing during the question intro.)
When you can buzz
Wait! The quizmaster has to read the question first. If you buzz too early (during "Question. Question number 5 for 20 points..."), that's a foul.
The interrupt rule: If you buzz BEFORE the last word of the question is read, that's called "interrupting." It's a big risk — if you get it wrong, the same question is re-read to the other team! So only interrupt when you're SURE.
You have 5 seconds after the quizmaster finishes reading to buzz, and 30 seconds after you're identified to answer.
Quotation questions
Some questions ask you to quote a Bible verse word-for-word. These must be perfect — no missed, added, or changed words. You also need to give the reference (like "John 3:16") before or after the verse.
Practice on your own
Want to get better? Go to Practice — flashcards, drills, and review of questions you've missed. The more you practice, the higher your rating gets, and the better matches you'll be paired with.
